Investigation of the Interaction Mechanism between Lignin Structural Units and Enzyme

The effect of lignin structural units on enzymatic hydrolysis lignocellulosic biomass was investigated, especially the inhibitory role in non-productive adsorption with enzymes. Milled wood (MWL) isolated from different hardwoods poplar, eucalyptus and acacia. samples were characterized by elemental analysis, gel permeation chromatography, nitrobenzene oxidation fourier infrared spectroscopy. mechanism cellulose studied quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). results showed that had capacity for indicated S/G ratio (S: syringyl-like structures; G: guaiacyl-like structures) poplar 0.99, 1.92 acacia 1.34. According to QCM, three films as follows: Poplar MWL (S/G 0.99) < Acacia 1.34) Eucalyptus 1.92). higher degree condensation stronger affinity enzymes more enzymes, resulting less between cellulose, lower efficiency.
